What does the users think about Low Temperature District Heating?
Brunnshög, Høje-Taastrup, Innovation, Low temperature district heating, Lund UniversityUser acceptance is an important part for low temperature district heating to be installed and used. Especially since it is often sold with arguments such as benefits for the customers, not only the environment. But do the customers really care?…

LTDH-heated benches installed in Lund
Brunnshög, DemonstrationKraftringen are opening up to make the LTDH-grid in Brunnshög a testbed for creative solutions, as well as promoting good cooperation of parties active in the DH sector. One example are the newly installed, artistic LTDH-heated benches at Möllegården.

New type of PE-RT pipes with leakage detection
DemonstrationThe possibility to detect potential leakage in a DH (or LTDH) system is crucial. In COOL DH, plastic media pipes are used instead of the classic steel media pipes. This requires a slightly different solution to detect leakage.

Incorporating a distributed, local waste heat source into the LTDH grid
Demonstration, Kraftringen, ReportsAs the temperature in the DH grids generally, and LTDH grids specifically, is gradually lowered it allows for new types of production to be included in the grid. The value of waste heat from “prosumers” has been considered too low in terms of temperature and volume, but that is no longer the case.
