New type of PE-RT pipes with leakage detection
DemonstrationThe possibility to detect potential leakage in a DH (or LTDH) system is crucial. In COOL DH, plastic media pipes are used instead of the classic steel media pipes. This requires a slightly different solution to detect leakage.

Incorporating a distributed, local waste heat source into the LTDH grid
Demonstration, Kraftringen, ReportsAs the temperature in the DH grids generally, and LTDH grids specifically, is gradually lowered it allows for new types of production to be included in the grid. The value of waste heat from “prosumers” has been considered too low in terms of temperature and volume, but that is no longer the case.

Design Guide for Low Temperature District Heating
Demonstration, Low temperature district heatingThis guide by Cetetherm explains how to design and prepare buildings to be able to integrate low temperature district heating. It will assess the best of hot water and space heating system design for different buildings categories.

A VIRTUAL STUDY TOUR TO THE WORLD’S LARGEST LTDH-GRID

Xplorion – a pioneering multi family building with climate friendly solutions
Demonstration, District heatingXplorion in Lund is a world-class innovation project for those who want to live sustainable. The building focuses on climate-smart solutions that are highly present in the tenant’s everyday life. Two solutions within COOL DH are demonstrated in Xplorion: Local energy solution with heat pump hot water topping and an innovative three-pipe solution.

Producing heating, cooling and surplus heating for the LTDH grid
Kraftringen, Low temperature district heating, MAX IVIn COOL DH we develop and demonstrate a range of technologies to supply low-temperature networks with heat without compromising the users' comfort and the efficiency of the district heating system. In Lund, Kraftringen has installed a heat recovery system at MAX IV research facility, supplying the new Brunnshög district with low temperature district heating.

The world’s largest LTDH network officially opened
Brunnshög, Kraftringen, Low temperature district heatingOn Tuesday 24th September the world’s largest low temperature district heating network was inaugurated in Brunnshög, the sustainable future district in the northeast part of Lund, Sweden. Science Village Scandinavia’s conference facility…
